'The last book in the Charlie Bone Series has been written, and now my thoughts are turning to The Red King Trilogy. I've had no time to make any school visits yet, this year, because Book Eight took so much longer to write than the other books in the series.
I had to make sure that, by the end of the series, all the characters, (especially Billy Raven) were leading happy lives, and that all the villains got their just deserts. |

‘When Book Eight comes out in September I’ll be going on a short tour, beginning with the Bath Festival on Saturday, 19th September in the Guildhall at 10.00 am.
I shall the visit several schools in the London area, before proceeding to Norfolk, where I shall be at the Norfolk Children’s Book Centre at 7.00pm, on Tuesday, 22nd September.
Before the tour I shall be appearing at the Edinburgh Festival on Saturday, 22nd August, in the RSB Corner theatre at 3.00 p.m.
I shall be talking about ‘Charlie Bone and the Red Knight’ at all these events, and I’m hoping to get loads of questions.’ |
