Here is an Introduction to ‘The Stones of Ravenglass'.
Timoken, the African boy-king, has been living in Castle Melyntha for a year, now. When he arrived in Britain the Welsh Prince Griffith welcomed him to his castle, and Timoken has come to think of it as home. But his life is about to change, dramatically. When the prince is killed in battle, conquerors take over the castle and Timoken has to flee for his life. Together with his camel and Eri, the wizard, he escapes into the forests of Northern Britain. Here, rebels' children, wild and homeless, hide among the trees. Timoken must convince them that he is a friend. He comes up with a seemingly impossible plan. He will build a castle, a home for them all. But there are beings lurking in the foreest who would see him dead first.
